SIGNL
For creators · Brand deals in Washington DC

Brand deals in Washington DC start at 500 followers.

DC businesses do not need a creator with a million followers in other states. They need the person whose followers argue about mumbo sauce and know which 14th Street patio is worth the wait. On SIGNL, Washington DC creators with 500 followers or more land brand deals with local businesses: a comped meal, service or experience, or a booking at a rate the creator sets. The founding DC roster is forming now.

500 followers is enough · Founding roster forming

In one line: In Washington DC, a brand deal on SIGNL means a local business comps you a meal, service or experience, or books you at your own rate, in exchange for one honest post, and it starts at 500 followers.

The local picture

Deals across the District and the metro

The Washington DC market covers the District plus 25 Maryland and Virginia cities, and the deals follow how DC actually lives: a half-smoke at a neighborhood carryout, dinner on 14th Street, a night on H Street, brunch in Shaw, a U Street institution, or a room in Arlington, Alexandria or Bethesda. If your followers live anywhere in the metro, your audience counts as local here, and local is what these businesses are buying.

Every size has a lane

Tiers are automatic, and your counts stack

SIGNL tiers are set automatically by your total audience, and your counts stack across platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X and LinkedIn all add up into one number. Grow on any of them and your tier rises on its own. Nobody picks your band, and nobody can hold you in one. New to the idea itself? Start with why anyone can be a creator.

Two ways it pays

Get comped, or get paid at your own rate

Every SIGNL visit runs one of two lanes, and the lane is set by the business's offer. Here is both of them, in one breath, with nothing fine-printed. For the comp lane in depth, see how getting comped works; for the small-following case, see brand deals with 500 followers.

/ Lane one

Get comped

A business covers a meal, a service or an experience. You visit like a real customer and post honestly about it. On these visits, the comp itself is the pay.

/ Lane two

Get paid

You list your own rate on your profile, starting at $50. When a business books you at your rate, SIGNL holds the payment and releases it when your post is live, and you keep 97 percent. Paid bookings depend on the business, so they are never guaranteed, but the rate is always yours.

/ The visit

One post, one story sharing the post, 48 hours

Whichever lane, the Standard Visit is the same: 1 post or reel plus 1 story that shares the post, posted to a 48-hour standard, with up to a week at the outside, honest and clearly disclosed. You always own your content, and no business can require a positive post.

Your content stays yours. Rights follow the visit, never a plan. On a comped visit, the business can share your post natively, with you credited, and nothing more: no downloads, no reposts, no ads. On a paid visit, the business can also repost the post and run it as an ad for 90 days under the standard license included in the booking. Either way, the content is yours and it lives on your profile, building your record.

SIGNL is free for creators. Always. Businesses pay the platform. You never pay to join, to list, or to get booked.

How it works

From sign-up to first visit in Washington DC

/ 01

Claim your founding spot

Sign up free in the app. Pick Washington DC as your market so your profile lands on the metro roster businesses will book from. Founding creators are first in line when their market opens, so the spot is worth claiming now, before the market goes live.

/ 02

Complete your profile

Add your photo, your home city, what you post about and your follower counts on each platform. Your stacked total sets your tier automatically, and a complete profile is what businesses see when offers go out. The full creator overview is on the For Creators page.

/ 03

Get offers when your market opens

Washington DC is a founding market: founding signups are open, the roster is forming, and the market is not live yet. Founding businesses are joining the list now and activate at launch. When the market opens, businesses post comp offers and paid bookings to the roster, and you claim the ones you actually want.

/ 04

Visit and post

Show up like a real customer, redeem in the app, enjoy the thing. Then post within 48 hours: 1 post or reel plus 1 story that shares the post, honest, in your voice, disclosed as comped or paid.

/ 05

Get comped or paid, and build your record

The comp is covered, or your rate lands once the post is live. Every delivered visit builds your reliability record, which is how businesses pick who gets the next offer.

Washington DC FAQ

Questions, answered straight

Can I get brand deals in Washington DC with 500 followers?

Yes. Brand deals in Washington DC start at 500 followers in total on SIGNL, and your counts stack across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X and LinkedIn. DC businesses are buying the trust of people who live in the metro and might walk in this week, not national reach. As a founding creator in the Neighbors tier (500 to 2,000 followers), you join the Washington DC roster, and when the market opens, businesses send comp offers and paid bookings to that roster.

How much do Washington DC creators get paid on SIGNL?

It depends on the lane, and you control one of them. On a comped visit, the meal, service or experience itself is your compensation. On a paid booking, you list your own rate on your profile, starting at $50, and you keep 97 percent of it when a business books you at that rate. Paid bookings depend on the business choosing that lane, so paid work is never guaranteed, but the rate is always yours to set.

I live in Arlington or Bethesda. Can I join the DC roster?

Yes. The Washington DC founding market covers the District plus 25 Maryland and Virginia cities, from Frederick to Leesburg to Bowie, including Arlington, Alexandria, Bethesda and Silver Spring. If your followers live in the metro, your audience counts as local here, and you join with Washington DC as your market.

Is SIGNL live in Washington DC yet?

Not yet. Washington DC is a founding market, which means founding signups are open now, the founding roster is forming, and the market is not live yet. Founding creators are first in line when the market opens, and founding businesses are joining the list now and activate at launch.

What do I have to post for a DC brand deal?

The Standard Visit is the same on every deal: 1 post or reel plus 1 story that shares the post, posted to a 48-hour standard, with up to a week at the outside, honest, in your own voice, and clearly disclosed as comped or paid, for example with #gifted, as FTC guidelines require. No business can require a positive post, and you always own your content. On a comped visit, the business can share your post natively and nothing more; on a paid visit, it can also repost the post and run it as an ad for 90 days under the standard license included in the booking.

Does it cost anything to join SIGNL in Washington DC?

No. SIGNL is free for creators. Always. Businesses pay the platform. You never pay to join, to list, or to get booked. The only money that moves on your side is money coming to you: the comp a business covers, or 97 percent of your own rate when a business books you paid.
