SIGNL
For creators · Anyone can be a creator

Anyone can be a creator.

You already have the one asset local businesses actually want: people who follow you and trust you. It does not matter whether that is 500 people or 500,000. On SIGNL, the network you have right now turns into comped meals, services and experiences, or paid work at a rate you set yourself.

The idea

Your followers are a network, not a number

Somewhere along the way, "creator" got defined as someone with a huge audience and a manager. Wrong definition. A creator is anyone whose people listen to them. If your followers ask where you ate, what you wore and where you got your hair done, you are already doing the job. SIGNL just makes businesses pay for it, in comps or in cash.

/ 01

Trust beats reach

A recommendation from someone you actually know moves you. That is why your 700 followers, the ones who have met you, worked with you and eaten where you eat, are worth more to a local business than a stranger's 700,000 spread across the whole country.

/ 02

Local is the whole point

A restaurant does not need the internet. It needs the neighborhood. Your followers live near you, which means they live near the businesses on your roster, which means your one honest post reaches exactly the people who can walk in this week.

/ 03

Small is not weak

A tight local network is concentrated, and concentrated is valuable. Five hundred followers who trust your taste and live within a few miles of a business will out-sell a giant account for that business almost every time. Size sets your tier on SIGNL. It never decides whether you belong.

In one line: a creator is anyone whose followers trust them, and on SIGNL that trust turns into comps and paid work at any size, starting at 500 followers.

Every size has a lane

500 followers is the front door, not the small end

SIGNL tiers are set automatically by your total audience, and your counts stack across platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X and LinkedIn all add up into one number. Grow on any of them and your tier rises on its own. Nobody picks your band, and nobody can hold you in one.

Two ways it pays

Get comped, or get paid. Your network earns either way.

Every SIGNL visit runs one of two lanes, and the lane is set by the business's offer. Here is both of them, in one breath, with nothing fine-printed.

/ Lane one

Get comped

A business covers a meal, a service or an experience. You visit like a real customer and post honestly about it. On these visits, the comp itself is the pay, and businesses across your city use this lane every day to fill seats and chairs.

/ Lane two

Get paid

You list your own rate on your profile, starting at $50. When a business books you at your rate, SIGNL holds the payment and releases it when your post is live, and you keep 97 percent. Paid bookings depend on the business, so they are never guaranteed, but the rate is always yours.

/ The visit

One post, one story sharing the post, 48 hours

Whichever lane, the Standard Visit is the same: 1 post or reel plus 1 story that shares the post, posted to a 48-hour standard, with up to a week at the outside, honest and clearly disclosed. You always own your content, and no business can require a positive post.

Your content stays yours. Rights follow the visit, never a plan. On a comped visit, the business can share your post natively, with you credited, and nothing more: no downloads, no reposts, no ads. On a paid visit, the business can also repost the post and run it as an ad for 90 days under the standard license included in the booking. Either way, the content is yours and it lives on your profile, building your record.

SIGNL is free for creators. Always. Businesses pay the platform. You never pay to join, to list, or to get booked.

How it works

From followers to first visit, in five steps

/ 01

Claim your founding spot

Sign up free in the app with your market and your handles. Founding creators are first in line when their market opens, so the spot is worth claiming now, before your city goes live.

/ 02

Complete your profile

Add your photo, your home city, what you post about and your follower counts on each platform. Your stacked total sets your tier automatically, and a complete profile is what businesses see when offers go out.

/ 03

Get offers when your market opens

Founding businesses are joining the list now and activate at market launch. When your market opens, businesses post comp offers and paid bookings to your city's roster, and you claim the ones you actually want.

/ 04

Visit and post

Show up like a real customer, redeem in the app, enjoy the thing. Then post within 48 hours: 1 post or reel plus 1 story that shares the post, honest, in your voice, disclosed as comped or paid.

/ 05

Get comped or paid, and build your record

The comp is covered, or your rate lands once the post is live. Every delivered visit builds your reliability record and Local Impact Score, which is how businesses pick who gets the next offer.

/ 06

Bring your people

Know someone whose followers trust them? Send them your referral link. Their signup earns you Momentum points, and points order the creator list businesses see, so points are priority.

Built city by city

Local networks, in 38 founding markets

SIGNL builds one founding roster per city, because a network only pays when it is local. The home market is Virginia Beach, and it covers all of Hampton Roads: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Williamsburg, Poquoson and Yorktown. Founding rosters are also forming across the United States and in Dubai, Paris, London, Manchester, Barcelona, Lisbon, Toronto and Montreal.

Every one of the 38 founding markets in 8 countries is still forming, and none is live yet. That is the founding part: you claim your spot while your city's roster is being built, and founding creators are first in line when their market opens. See all 38 founding markets, or add your city if it is not listed yet. In a first-wave market? Go local: brand deals in Virginia Beach, get comped in Richmond, get paid to post in Raleigh and brand deals in Washington DC.

Creator FAQ

Questions, answered straight

How many followers do you need to be a creator?

You need 500 followers in total, and they do not all have to be in one place. SIGNL stacks your audience across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X and LinkedIn, so 300 followers on Instagram and 250 on TikTok already put you over the line. Your tier is set automatically from that stacked total, and it moves up as you grow. There is no application essay and no minimum engagement rate: 500 real followers who know you is a network, and a network is what local businesses want.

Can I get brand deals with 500 followers?

Yes, brand deals start at 500 followers on SIGNL. Local businesses are not buying national reach; they are buying the trust of people who live near them and might walk in this week. As a founding creator in the Neighbors tier (500 to 2,000 followers), you join your city's roster, and when your market opens, businesses send comp offers to that roster: a meal, a service or an experience in exchange for one honest post. Founding creators are first in line when their market opens.

How do creators get comped meals and experiences?

Businesses post comp offers, you claim the ones you want, you visit, and you post. You claim a founding spot and complete your profile first. When your market opens, local businesses post what they are comping: a meal for two, a haircut, a class, a tour. You claim an offer, visit like a real customer, redeem in the app, and post 1 post or reel plus 1 story that shares the post within 48 hours, clearly disclosed as comped. On a comped visit, the meal, service or experience itself is your compensation.

Can small creators actually get paid?

Yes, and you set the price. Any creator on SIGNL can list a paid rate on their profile, starting at $50. When a business books you at your rate, SIGNL holds the payment and releases it when your post is live, and you keep 97 percent of your rate. Paid bookings depend on the business choosing that lane, so paid work is never guaranteed, but the rate is always yours to set. Creators with 15,000 or more followers are first in line for paid campaigns.

What do I have to post?

One post or reel plus one story that shares the post, posted to a 48-hour standard, with up to a week at the outside. The post is honest, in your own voice, and clearly disclosed as comped or paid, for example with #gifted, as FTC guidelines require. No business can require a positive post, and you always own your content. On a comped visit, the business can share your post natively and nothing more; on a paid visit, it can also repost the post and run it as an ad for 90 days under the standard license included in the booking.

Does it cost anything to be a creator on SIGNL?

No. SIGNL is free for creators. Always. Businesses pay the platform. You never pay to join, to list, or to get booked. The only money that moves on your side is money coming to you: the comp a business covers, or 97 percent of your own rate when a business books you paid.

Which cities is SIGNL in?

SIGNL is forming founding creator rosters in 38 markets across 8 countries. The home market is Virginia Beach, which covers all of Hampton Roads, and the founding markets include Richmond, Washington DC, Raleigh, Atlanta, Chicago, Austin, Dallas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto, Montreal, London, Paris and Dubai. Every market is founding right now and none is live yet: founding businesses are joining the list and activate when each market opens, and founding creators are first in line when theirs does.
