SIGNL
For creators · Small followings

500 followers is enough.

National platforms ignore you until you are big. Local businesses do not care about big: they care about here. If your followers live in your city, you are exactly who they want to book, and SIGNL is where they book you. In a first-wave market, start local: brand deals in Virginia Beach or brand deals in Washington DC.

The math

Why local beats big, in numbers

A local business's customers live within about ten miles of its door. National brands shop by follower count because they ship products anywhere. Local businesses shop by audience location, and that flips who wins.

~300
Followers within driving distance of one local business, for a national creator with 200,000 followers spread across the country.
vs
1,400+
Followers within driving distance, for a local creator with 2,000 followers and a 70 percent local audience.

Illustrative example, and the reason SIGNL profiles show every creator's local audience share: the smaller, concentrated audience is worth more to the business down the street.

Your first deal

How a 500-follower creator gets a first brand deal

Brand deals for small creators fail on national platforms because the brands there want reach. On SIGNL the deal is local from the first step.

/ 01

Sign up and pick your band

Apply free in the app, with your home city and your honest follower band. Under 500? Apply anyway: your band is set at sign-up and rises as you grow.

/ 02

Businesses see your local number

Your profile shows your follower count and the share of your followers who live in your market. To a local business, that local share is the headline, not the raw count.

/ 03

Claim offers when your market opens

Founding creators see offers first, in sign-up order. Claim a meal, a service or an experience, visit like a real customer, post honestly within 48 hours with disclosure. Every visit is tracked, so each post you deliver builds the track record businesses trust when they choose who to book.

Creator tiers

The Neighbors tier, explained

Neighbors (500 to 2,000 followers) is not a waiting room. It is the tier local businesses ask for by name: everyday people whose followers are their actual neighbors.

Neighbors
500 – 2k followers
  • Everyday people with a local following
  • Comp visits, and paid bookings at your own rate
  • Perfect first step into local posting
Locals
2k – 15k followers
  • Regular local posters, the roster's sweet spot
  • Comp visits, and paid bookings at your own rate
  • Priority access to new businesses
Headliners
15k+ followers
  • Established local creators
  • Comp visits, and paid bookings at your own rate
  • First pick of grand openings and launches

Under 500 followers, or just starting out? Apply anyway. Your tier is set by your follower count, and it moves up as you grow. What matters most is not the number, it is that your audience is actually local and actually engages. Nobody picks their own band.

Creator FAQ

Questions, answered straight

Can small creators really get brand deals?

On SIGNL, small is the point. Brand deals for small creators usually fail because national brands shop by follower count; local businesses shop by audience location. SIGNL tiers start at 500 followers (Neighbors), anyone can apply at any follower count, and a creator with 1,000 followers whose audience lives in one city is exactly who local businesses want to book.

Do I need to call myself an influencer?

No. The Neighbors tier is built for everyday local people: parents, students, regulars, the friend everyone asks where to eat. If people who live near you follow you and trust your taste, you are what local businesses are looking for.

Is 500 followers a hard minimum?

No. Anyone can apply at any follower count, including under 500. Your tier is set by your follower count at sign-up and moves up as you grow. What matters most is that your audience is actually local and actually engages.

How fast can I get my first comp?

Founding markets open in waves as rosters fill, and founding creators are reviewed and see offers in sign-up order. The earlier you sign up, the earlier your first claim. Once your market is open, offers appear as local businesses post them.

What do I have to post for a deal?

1 post or reel plus 1 story that shares the post about the visit, posted to a 48-hour standard, with up to a week at the outside, in your own voice, with a clear disclosure that the visit was comped (for example #gifted). Honest only: no business can require a positive post, ever.

Can I get paid, or is it only comps?

SIGNL is free for creators. Always. Businesses pay the platform. You never pay to join, to list, or to get booked. Both paths are open. Standard deals pay in comps: the meal, service or experience. Any creator can also set a paid rate on their profile, at any follower count. When a business books you directly at your rate, you keep 97 percent of it, because SIGNL takes only 3 percent of the creator's rate. Grow into the Headliners band (15,000+) and you are also first in line for paid cash campaigns on top of comps.
