SIGNL ("we," "us") operates joinsignl.com and the SIGNL local creator platform, launching first in Hampton Roads, Virginia. SIGNL is a service operated by Extra Medium LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do with it. It covers this website and our founding applications; platform terms at launch will add detail, not surprises.
What we collect
Creator applications: your name, social media handle, email address, follower band, home city, content categories, and anything you add in the notes field.
Business applications: business name and type, location, contact name, email and phone, tier interest, the comp you plan to offer, and your goals.
City requests: the city and state where you want SIGNL to launch, plus the contact information you provide.
Basic technical data: if analytics is enabled, aggregate visit statistics (pages viewed, approximate region, device type). We do not run advertising trackers.
How we use it
To review founding applications, in the order they arrive, and to contact you about your application and our launch. To operate, secure, and improve the platform. To understand which cities want SIGNL next. That's the list.
What we never do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share application details with businesses or creators you haven't chosen to work with. We do not rent, trade, or broker your data, to anyone, for any price.
Who processes it
This site is hosted, and its forms are processed, by Netlify. If analytics is enabled, visit statistics are processed by Google Analytics. If a creator connects a social account (below), the connection is provided by Meta Platforms (Instagram). These providers handle data only to provide their services to us.
Connected creator accounts
Creators may choose to connect their Instagram professional account to SIGNL. If you do, we access your account's audience insights, including the cities your followers are in, only with your permission, and we use them for one purpose: calculating and displaying the local-audience statistics on your SIGNL profile (for example, the percentage of your followers in your market), so businesses in that market can find you. We never post to your account, never message your followers, and never sell this data.
Disconnecting and deleting your data
You can disconnect your Instagram account at any time from your SIGNL profile settings, or by removing SIGNL in your Instagram/Facebook settings. When you disconnect, or if you ask us to delete your data, we delete your access tokens and the audience data derived from your connected account. To request deletion directly, email hello@joinsignl.com with the subject "Delete my data" and your SIGNL handle. Deletion is completed within 30 days, and we confirm by email when it is done.
Your choices
Email hello@joinsignl.com to see, correct, or delete the information you submitted. We respond within 30 days. SIGNL is operated by Extra Medium LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. If you don't want your details reviewed for the founding roster, simply don't submit an application, browsing this site requires none.
Age
SIGNL is for adults. You must be 18 or older to apply as a creator or a business contact.
Changes
